Omar III
Did not slept well during the trip as I wasn't used to the bed in the room. The room was not bad. It was about the same as Star Crusie, if not, bigger. Overall the room wasn't bad. There's television, two mineral water, and ya... That's about all. Haha... But the toilet stinked like hell. The toilet was very small, by the way.
Day 1
The first place we stepped foot on was the lounge, I think. The first thought that came into my mind was as though we have stepped into a time machine and arrived in the 70's or 80's. The design of the ship is so different from outside. I never thought that I could see such design anymore other than in television since we are now in 2006!
Me: Did you bring your 80's clothes to match the surrounding?
Huiwen: NO.
Me: Haha.. Me too.
Anyway, we got our room keys (card) but couldn't put our lugguage into our cabin as the room had not been tidied yet. (!!) However, we did manage to put all our lugguages into one of the rooms as it has already been tidied. Went for breakfast straight after that.
I tell you! The entrance of the restaurant was so smelly! It was the smell of rusty metals. Lots of rusty metals! Can you imagine? I told Huiwen that if I were the manager, the first thing I'll do is to throw aways all the coffee heater or whatever they call it. It can just make you puke. Horrible smell! Haha.. I almost lost all my appetite because of the strong, nasty smell.
Then the next thing I realised was this.

As you can tell, there were lots of them!! There were roughly twenty disco mirror balls in the restaurant alone. HAHA! It seemed to be the theme of the ship or something. Our mums went to gamble after the breakfast while Huiwen and I went for a little quest (actually just tour around the ship). It took us about 20 minutes to tour around the whole ship. Yap, only 20 minutes.
Huiwen: How long have we beening touring?
Me: Hmm... 2o minutes?
Huiwen: Die, how are we supposed to spend the rest of the trip when we have nothing else to do already?
Me: We can jump into the sea and swim back if you want since the ship has not left yet.
Huiwen: Haha.
Basically there were only eight floors. Only the third to fifth are for passengers. The seventh floor rooms were more expensive, I guess. We could only guess as the rooms' door seemed to be bigger. Haha.. The first 3 floors were not accessible at all. God knows where they will led to.
Anyway, I forgot the rest of the day because the only things I could remember were eat, walk, eat, walk, eat, then sleep. Oh, we did play a bit of jackpot and that was it! That's how we end our first day.
Day 2
Woke up at 8 or 9 in the morning but I skipped breakfast since the lunch was only 3 hours away. Ya, that was what we roughly did. Eat, walk, eat, walk. Oh, did I mention eat and walk? We did go for singing session at night as there was really nothing much to do. The room was nice! Made of glass and it was damn big! But there was very limited songs to sing. And we only got one microphone as the other was spoilt. Damn, we still went to sing as there was really nothing much to do. Once we stepped into the karaoke lounge, I notice this again!

Haha! Told you, it was a theme or something in this ship. Oh, I did mention that there were about 20 of them in the restaurant, right? Well, there were about 40 inside the lounge then. Not including 6 or 9 outside! I was actually quite surprised that they didn't put the balls in each and every one of the room. I mean, that was their theme, right?
The reason why I said the ship looked like 70's or 80's was because of the design and the things they used in the ship. The things just looked kind of..... old. That was why when I heard that the ship started operating around one year ago, I was shocked!
Me: Impossible! (almost shouting)
Huiwen: Possible. If it hasn't been maintained and cleaned for the pass one year.
Me: ......
I think that would be the only reason I could accept that the ship could only be in this state if there wasn't really any miantainance for the whole year. I mean, there were just weird smell everywhere. The lounge, the toilets in our rooms, the RESTAURANT. Oh god, I can't stress enough how smelly the restaurant was. Seriously! I always asked Huiwen to hold her breath when we walk pass the entrance.
Day 3
Woke up at 6 in the morning. Ate breakfast. Then went back to my room and sleep for some 15 minutes before the announcement for us to leave the ship. It wasn't that bad as we got to see a huge rainbow on our way back. I considered it big as a tiny glimpse of rainbow in Singapore would be like seeing something extraordinary. Well, at least for me. The rainbow was big, like I mention because it just went right across the sky until a stupid cloud blocked my view.
P.S. Maybe I sounded as though the ship really sucked but it wasn't really that BAD. At least the room was decent as long as you don't go into the toilet. Overall, the ship was alright other than the smells and the design of the ship. They should really fire the designer(s). The trip was really alright because it was not meant for us as we don't gamble so that's why we found it a bit boring. I was happy enough as long as I got a nice seaview and a good room. Really. Also, we also did other things like playing poker cards in the room, chatting at the deck at night, taking some pictures, having some awkward moments when we walked past the health centres(twice!), etc.. It was boring and fun at the same time. So I guess I did have some fun in the end. :) Oh, one last thing. I was touched that my mum was so sweet to accompany us in the room to play poker cards and paying for the singing session as she was afraid that we would be bored.
